my mom's coffee maker

All of my life my mom perked her coffee on top of the stove...do you know that wonderful smell? Well, my mom used to have a Pyrex coffee perculator, glass, lovely thing.  I loved that coffee pot and never understood how she got it to taste the same absolute way every day! Anywhoo, I found one at the Goodwill the other day....6 cupper $2.99, no inside stem or basket.  Enter Ebay:  found the insides on Ebay and purchased them for a mere $4.95 plus $8.00 shipping.  Even came from Canada!  I have been in heaven ever since.  It makes the strongest, best coffee. I swear if I ever bought Good coffee I think I'd just faint, but right now Folgers does just fine....

Where to hide those Christmas presents....

My mom always used to hide our wrapped Christmas presents on the top shelf of her closet. I remember feeling the outside wrapping of one of them and realizing it was a Skipper doll...(miniature Barbie) I hate it when I find out my presents! I think I cured myself of that habit. After that I just looked at all of them.....we had 7 kids in our family, so their used to be quite a collection of gifts up there.....

Your mom might still live with you, she might be many miles away, she might even be in heaven, but chances are she's important and you want people to know about her! I know that my mom passed too soon. Yes, she was 73, but I was only 34. She still had a lot of advice to give and grandchildren to see grow up. I want to tell snippits of things I remember, things she said, funny quirks she had, and other recollections about my mom...I invite you to do the same, and add a picture if you can!
