Where to hide those Christmas presents....
My mom always used to hide our wrapped Christmas presents on the top shelf of her closet. I remember feeling the outside wrapping of one of them and realizing it was a Skipper doll...(miniature Barbie) I hate it when I find out my presents! I think I cured myself of that habit. After that I just looked at all of them.....we had 7 kids in our family, so their used to be quite a collection of gifts up there.....

Oh goodness...what a GREAT idea!!
ReplyDeleteChristmas memories...of MY mom. Let's see...
One Christmas I remember my sister found our Christmas presents. They were "hiding" in the garage in this antique buffet we had out there (why it was in the garage? probably too big and too old for our dining room). Anyway...my sister found 2 dolls...one for her and one for me. She was SOOOO excited to find the dolls. She ran in the house to tell my mom she found "two babies" in the garage. The look on my mom's face...oh dear...she followed my sister out in the garage, where I stood. She gave me "the look" (you KNOW what I mean). As the big sister, I guess I was suppose to prevent these sort of things from happening. Whatever. My mom made up a good story...about where those "babies" came from...my sister must have bought it. Let's just sau that was the first year we got a gift from my parents...instead of just from Santa. Otherwise, she also used to "hide" Christmas presents in her closet...which sounds really original...but didn't wrap them. Let's just say my curious eyes couldn't help but peek...and ruined the surprise once or twice...just enough to stop looking.
